A new report released by the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) shows an impressive 34.4% of active shootings were thwarted by armed citizens between 2014 and 2021. Not surprisingly, FBI reported only 4.4% of active shootings were thwarted by armed citizens during that same time period.

The CPRC argues that the FBI’s data contains “massive errors” when tracking active shooting incidents that they say looks like a pattern of distortion.

“Although collecting such data is fraught with challenges, some see a pattern of distortion in the FBI numbers because the errors almost exclusively go one way, minimizing the life-saving actions of armed citizens,” Crime Prevention Research Center founder and president John Lott, states.

The Concealed Carry Improvement Act signed by NY Democratic Governor, Kathy Hochul, banned concealed-carry permit holders from carrying weapons into “sensitive locations” that include “places of worship or religious observation”.

In response, many churches and synagogues now rightly fear for their safety and ability to defend against deadly attacks. A group of NY Orthodox Jews are suing the state over the new law, arguing it effectively makes them “sitting ducks”.

A group of Orthodox Jews in New York City are suing the state’s new law banning carrying a firearm in a house of worship and arguing that it essentially makes them “sitting ducks.”

The Jewish congregation in Midwood, Brooklyn, in a suit organized by the New York State Jewish Gun Club in Rockland County, filed the lawsuit on September 29 objecting to the state’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act signed by New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul, the New York Post reported.

The legislation banned concealed-carry permit holders from carrying weapons into “sensitive locations” that includes “places of worship or religious observation” which the lawsuit alleges puts Jewish synagogue-goers at risk.

“You are making them sitting ducks,” Ameer Benno, a lawyer representing the group, told the outlet. “It’s not a myth that Jewish houses of worship are targets for hate.”

The US House of Representatives will be voting on a bill that would allow law-abiding citizens with a CCW permit to carry their guns legally into other states — without penalty.

What sparked such a bill are a number of cases where innocent concealed carry gun owners have been jailed or fined for simply crossing state lines while carrying. Just as states recognize marriage certificates and drivers licenses from other states, this is common sense legislation and hopefully will pass both houses.

Fox News reported:

Gun-rights supporters are eyeing a big win this week as a bill that would make concealed-carry permits valid across state lines heads to the House floor — though it faces long odds in the Senate amid deep-pocketed opposition from gun-control advocates.

“This is just simple, common-sense legislation that says if you’re a law-abiding citizen … we’re not going to turn you into a criminal just for crossing an invisible state line,” bill sponsor Rep. Richard Hudson, R-N.C., told “Fox News @ Night.”

Hudson says the bill simply attempts to clarify the patchwork of state laws that confuse citizens who can unwittingly get arrested when traveling from state to state.
